传记 

斯泰西皮布尔斯 came to Centre in 2011. She is an associate professor and chair of 英语 and director of the 电影研究 program and was named a Centre Scholar in 2014. 她的学位是B.A., M.A.， Ph值.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to Centre, she was the assistant director of Lloyd International Honors College at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and also worked as a professor and administrator in the Honors College of The University of Houston. Her research areas include the representation of war and violence, 电影 adaptation, 西部片, and contemporary American author 科马克•麦卡锡. 

Her most recent monograph, 科马克•麦卡锡 and Performance: Page, Stage, Screen (德克萨斯大学P, 2017) explores the author’s work in theater, 剧本, and 电影 adaptations by others. She is also the author of Welcome to the Suck: Narrating the American Soldier’s Experience in Iraq (康奈尔大学, 2011), which addresses stories about this recent conflict in literature, 电影, 新媒体. 她的下一本书, The War Comes With You: Enduring War in Life, 小说, 和幻想, continues that work and will be published in late 2024 by the U of South Carolina P. She is editor of the collection Violence in Literature (Salem P, 2014), and co-editor of Approaches to Teaching the Works of 科马克•麦卡锡 (mla p, 2021). 

Peebles has been editor of the 科马克•麦卡锡 Journal (Penn State UP) since 2010 and is President of the 科马克•麦卡锡 Society. In 2017, she co-edited a special issue of Modern 小说 Studies called “Enduring Operations: The Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq” (Johns Hopkins UP). Recent essay publications have addressed female military leadership in Star Wars 电影s (in Contemporary American Science 小说 Film, 2022), the field of contemporary war representation (in War and American Literature, 2021), and justice in Western 电影s (in The Cambridge Companion to Literature of the American West). At Centre, Peebles teaches courses in 电影 and American literature.
